As a non-profit organisation it is a pleasure to be able to donate the proceeds
of the BA Vintage Country Fair to charities and organisations in the local community.
Representatives from Diabetes UK, The Brain Tumour Charity, Westhill/Garlogie Day Care, RNLI Aberdeen, New Byth Community and Playing Field Association, Flowerpots Nursery Turriff and Kintore Lunch Club pose for a photograph after a presentation of cheques at an afternoon tea with the BA Events Committee at Lyne of Skene Village Hall.
The donations received by these worthwhile charities and organisations were generated from the proceeds of the 2018 BA Vintage Country Fair.

On an average day there are 20 members from the local area. The centre offers a wide range of activities, including chair exercises, entertainment, crafts, bingo, dominoes and quizzes. There are visits from local schools and musical groups to entertain, also organised outings to restaurants and places of interest, giving the chance for those who are socially isolated to get out and about. The ongoing success of the group very much depends on fundraising and donations, with the centre very much dependent on volunteers. The donation received from our event was used to purchase an indoor curling set.
RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,200 lives since 1824 but are more than a rescue service. The RNLI influence, supervise and educate people too. Their Community Safety teams explain the risks and share safety knowledge with anyone going out to sea or to the coast. International teams work with like-minded organisations to help tackle drowning in communities at risk all around the world. For more information please visit www.rnli.org.
Last year’s fundraising focused on raising enough funds for a new kitchen in the hall as the old kitchen was not fit for purpose. The donation received from our event was put towards the new kitchen renovations. For more information on this charity please visit their Facebook page or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The donation received from our event helped towards the project work and the nursery opened for business in January 2019. The nursery offers early learning and childcare for children aged 3 months – 5 years. For more information visit their Facebook page
The kind volunteers also provide transport to and from the hall for those unable to attend under their own steam. Should you wish further information, please contact: Margaret McCubbin on 01467 632724.
